Miles4Migrants is a non-profit charity dedicated to using donated frequent flyer miles and money for the relocation of those displaced by war and persecution to start a new beginning in a new home.

Our commitment

Miles4Migrants commits to identifying refugees, asylum seekers, and their immediate family members in need via strategic relationships with other 501(c)(3) nonprofit groups, or groups operating under other similar nonprofit laws in other countries, serving the exploding population of refugees around the world. The refugees and their families that Miles4Migrants commits to serving are those that are legally approved by the receiving country’s government to travel for migration and/or family reunification purposes but have financial needs that prevent them from purchasing airfare themselves.

At Miles4Migrants we pledge that all contributions will only be used to help refugees to the maximum extent possible. The directors of Miles4Migrants do our work on a volunteer-only basis. We will not use any funding to cover personal costs for any of our staff, including travel costs to make connections and further our efforts, and none of us at Miles4Migrants are compensated for our time in any way. We further commit to using all monetary donations, to the maximum extent possible, to pay for refugee travel, and state that under no circumstances will we use any donated money for political activism or lobbying.

Miles4Migrants is committed to fostering relationships with other nonprofits that are ‘on the ground’ serving refugees directly. We do not have the time or manpower to vet refugee finances, nor do we specialize in doing government legwork to make a refugee or their family ‘legal’ for travel. Therefore we cannot help in individual cases without another organization acting as an intermediary.

At present, travel for incoming refugees accepted by the United States government is purchased by the State Department itself, with the refugee then subject to a repayment plan. As a result we have concentrated, for the time being, on helping with travel to countries that do not have such restrictions. If we are able to determine special cases where we can make an impact for US-bound travel we will do so.

The officers, directors, committee members, employees, and persons served by Miles4Migrants shall be selected entirely on a nondiscriminatory basis with respect to age, sex, race, religion, national origin, and sexual orientation.  It is the policy of Miles4Migrants not to discriminate on the basis of race, creed, ancestry, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical disability, veteran’s status, color, religion, or national origin.

And finally: we know, we know. Miles4Migrants is a misnomer. The people we're helping with flights are actually refugees or asylees and not migrants. But the alliteration was just too enticing. So, sorry for the inappropriate term usage.
